Care Guide

Every Vinyasa Living piece is made with care, from long-staple cotton and European linen to down and hand-quilted silk. Look after it well and it will look after you, night after night. Here is how to keep each collection at its best.

Always check the care label on your product. If a label and this guide ever differ, follow the label.

Good to know

  • On 1000TC pieces, iron the pintuck detail from the reverse side to keep the tucks crisp.

Quilts · Hand Quilted in India

Linen & Organic Cotton Quilts

Hand-quilted by artisans in India and individually scrubbed and washed with care. The European Linen quilt pairs a 55% European linen, 45% cotton front with a cotton reverse; the Organic Tri-Color Stitch quilt is 100% organic cotton inside and out.

Applies to: European Linen Box Hand Quilt Set and Organic Tri-Color Stitch Hand Quilt Set (quilt and pillow covers)

  • Wash

  • Bleach

    Do not bleach

  • Dry

    Tumble dry low

  • Iron

    Do not iron

  • Dry clean

    Do not dry clean

Good to know

  • Wash on its own in a large-capacity machine so the quilting has room to move.
  • A soft, gently crinkled texture after washing is part of the hand-made character of linen and cotton.
  • Hand stitching is delicate, so avoid washing with items that have zips, hooks or Velcro.

Quilts · Habutai Silk

Habutai Silk Quilt

A 100% silk front with a 100% cotton sateen reverse and cotton fill, hand-quilted in 1" channels. Because of silk's natural width, each quilt features a fine centre seam.

Applies to: Habutai Silk Hand Quilt Set (quilt and pillow covers)

    Do not machine wash

  • Bleach

    Do not bleach

  • Dry

    Do not tumble dry

  • Iron

Good to know

  • Take your silk quilt to a professional dry cleaner experienced with silk.
  • Keep it out of strong, direct sunlight, which can fade silk over time.
  • Between uses, store it loosely folded in a breathable cotton bag, never in plastic.

Bedspreads · Jacquard Woven

Bedspreads

Yarn-dyed jacquards woven on French looms and fully reversible. Waves is cotton on both faces with a polyester centre yarn for loft; Modern Geo is 100% cotton with inverted colours on the reverse. Both have rounded bottom hems for an easy drape.

Applies to: Waves and Modern Geo Bedspread Sets (bedspread and pillow covers)

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle

  • Bleach

    Do not bleach

  • Dry

Line dry or tumble dry low

  • Dry clean

    Do not dry clean

Good to know

  • Wash separately from items with zips or hooks that could snag the jacquard.
  • Flip it from time to time. It's designed to be used on both sides, which also spreads the wear.
  • Shake out and smooth by hand while damp instead of ironing.

Down & Feather

Down Duvet & Pillows

Filled with premium white down inside a tightly woven, down-proof 100% cotton sateen shell. The King Duvet is 70% down, 30% feather at 650 fill power; our Standard and King Pillows are 30% down, 70% feather for supportive comfort.

  • Dry clean

    Dry clean only

Good to know

  • Always use a duvet cover and pillow covers. They keep your down & feather pieces clean, so professional cleaning is needed only occasionally.
  • Give your duvet and pillows a good shake each morning to restore loft.
  • Air them out in a shaded, airy spot every few weeks to keep them fresh.
  • A stray feather tip now and then is natural; push it back in rather than pulling it out.

Bath · Zero Twist

Towels

Our zero-twist towels are woven so each loop stays untwisted, which makes them soft, absorbent and quick to dry. Choose 600 GSM cotton and bamboo, or plush 500 GSM 100% long-staple cotton, both finished with a polished 1" hem.

Applies to: Bath, Hand and Face Towel Sets in 600 GSM Cotton/Bamboo and 500 GSM Cotton

  • Wash

    Machine wash cold

  • Bleach

    Do not bleach

  • Dry

Line dry or tumble dry low

  • Iron

    Do not iron

Good to know

  • Wash before first use to remove finishing residue and boost absorbency.
  • Skip fabric softener. It coats the fibres and makes towels less absorbent.
  • Shake towels before drying to fluff up the loops.
  • If a loop gets pulled, snip it level with scissors rather than pulling it.
  • Keep away from skincare containing benzoyl peroxide, which can lighten coloured towels.

Everyday care

A few simple habits that keep all of our textiles soft, beautiful and long-lasting.

First wash

Wash all new bedding and towels before you use them. It removes finishing residue and lets natural fibres relax and soften.

Go gentle

Cold water, a gentle cycle and a mild liquid detergent are kind to natural fibres and colours. Leave room in the drum and wash darks and lights apart.

Rotate your sets

Rotating two or three sets of sheets and towels spreads the wear and helps every piece last longer.

Store well

Make sure everything is fully dry, then store it in a cool, dry, airy place. Breathable cotton bags work best; plastic traps moisture.
